Eric Esterle is a 17 year old Jacobs High School student from Algonquin, Illinois. Eric is a bright and kind kid with an astonishingly positive attitude.

He is captain of the Jacobs Hockey Team, an avid motorcycle enthusiast, and full of life.

On October 29, 2006, Eric was diagnosed with a rare cancer called Malignant Psammomatous Melanotic Schwannoma. This is a cancer of the nerve sheath.

Little is known about this particular cancer and there is no set course of treatment. Consequently, Eric's family has already made several trips to the Mayo Clinic as well as a trip to Texas in an attempt to ascertain Eric's prognosis and to develop treatment options.

Eric has already undergone two separate surgeries and as you may expect, his family will incur enormous medical bills fighting this disease.

To date, Eric continues to fight this cancer with great courage and unbelievable strength. With an optimistic attitude and illustrious personality, Eric feels he can overcome these enormous obstacles. He hopes are that he can attend college in the fall of 2007.

On June 9, 2007, while attending The American Cancer Society's Relay for Life of south McHenry County, Brent Beckwith was able to present the Esterle family with a check on behalf of Angler911.com.

Today, Eric continues to get better. His last visit in April, 2007, brought good news as his scans showed little to none unnoticeable growth of cancer. The doctors instructed Eric to live his life as normal as possible and to enjoy the summer.

Eric's doctors want to see him back again before leaving in August for college at the University of Iowa. They would also like to see him come back again at Christmastime. Eric is now down to three visits per year at the Mayo Clinic.
